Generally Ethernet switch and
router are required to connect multiple computers but it cost should be approx
Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500, and it only make sense if you want connect more than two
computer. If you want to connect only two computers to each other, you may use
a simple cross over cat5 cable and for this you will need to spend only approx
Rs 100 only. Here we show you how to connect two computers by using a simple
cross over Ethernet cable.
First of all you, you have required
a crossover Ethernet cable to connect two computers but if you don’t have cross
over cable no need to worry about it. We can make a new crossover cable; the
basic requirement for making a cross over cable is minimum two RJ45 connector,
Crimping tool and Ethernet cable. The length of the cable depends on the
distance between both computers.
Making a Cross cable
Cut the required length of cat 5 cable,
peel out the cable and separate four pair, now straighten all the pair, connect
all the wire as shown in following picture.
As shown in picture first connector’s
PIN-1, PIN-2, PIN-3 andPIN-6 will be connected with the second connector’s
PIN-3, PIN-6, PIN-1, and PIN-2 respectively and rest pins will remain
unchanged.
Now insert the wire in RJ45
connector with carefully and gently crimp it with the crimping tools. Same process
applies at the both end.
Insert the wire carefully in RJ45 connector in the
following manner-WHITE GREEN-
GREEN-WHITE ORANGE-BLUE-WHITE BLUE-ORANGE-WHITE BROWN-BROWN.
Insert the wire carefully in RJ45 connector.
At the other end same process will be apply, but the
only diffrence now wiil be the order of the cable colors. Follow the order of
the color as WHITE ORANGE-ORANGE- WHITE
GREEN- BLUE-WHITE BLUE- GREEN-WHITE BROWN-BROWN.
